Though today is one day after boxing day, we would like to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year in advance. In addition, we are glad to let you know, we have launched a unique way of sending wishes to your friends, loved ones, colleagues, customers and/or group members in this season and henceforth.

From now on, you can send messages that look like this:

Dear %Name%, we would like to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year in advance. With this opportunity, we want to thank you for %Activity% since %Date%. Next year comes with a guarantee for %Improvement% and still better service. Happy Holidays!

This message, when sent to a list of recipients, may appear like this:

Dear Kenneth, we would like to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year in advance. With this opportunity, we want to thank you for your regular purchase of laptop accessories since February this year. Next year comes with a guarantee for cheaper products and still better service. Happy Holidays!

Just imagine how Kenneth would feel getting this message from Goody Store on a day like this. You too can get started sending messages like this. It takes a bit of preparation but we are sure you can do this!

Start learning how to create Excel files with Comma Separated Values (CSV) in these very easy steps:

  1. Launch the Notepad software on your computer or any text editor of your choice.
  2. Type the following text in the first line, “number, name, value” and press the ENTER key on the keyboard to move to the next line.
  3. Type a number, name and value, e.g. “07033698500,CompanyName,Cronalia Limited” and press the ENTER key on your keyboard to move to the next line.
  4. Follow step 3 for as many numbers and fields you want to provide.
  5. Ensure your file is not larger than 5MB in size. Then, you’re good to go! Save it.

Remember where you saved your file, then:

  1. Visit www.mobi2sms.com and login with your username and password or using a social network of your choice from the options available.
  2. If you have not created the list, please go ahead and create it by clicking Add/Manage List, then Create List (or any link similar).
  3. Return to the main menu. You can do this by clicking the logo.
  4. Click Add/Manage Lists and click on the name of the list for which you want to populate fields. Then, click Manage Fields.
  5. You may click Download (CSV) to download the updated list from the server (if any) and match with your current file. Otherwise, proceed to step 6.
  6. Click Choose file, select your prepared CSV file. Then, click Upload Fields to update the records of fields associated with each recipient in the list.

When next you want to send an SMS:

  1. Return to the main menu. You can do this by clicking the logo.
  2. Click Send/Schedule SMS. Then type your message.
  3. To include fields, just type the field names contained like this, %Name%, %Email%, etc. and the values would be displayed on the recipients’ phones.

Don’t be scared if you still see %Name% in your delivery reports, recipients with the fields defined would see the actual values i.e. in this case, it may be their names.

Are you ready to get started sending messages tailor-made for your contacts?

Facebook and WhatsApp CANNOT help you achieve this but we can.

You may click here to download our User Help Manual, and visit www.mobi2sms.com to start a live chat with us or leave a message and we would be glad to assist you.

Thank you for choosing Mobi2SMS. Enjoy the holidays!
